Microgreens are Easy to Grow

When I first started growing them in 2009, at Christmas I gave all my fellow employees a MyGrow Microgreen Kit. I was surprised in the following weeks when the Mechanics told me how much fun they had growing them.
Anyone can grow MicrogreensMany of them involved their children in the project too - fun for all.

The MyGrow Microgreen Kits include everything you need to grow except water & light. They can be grown in a window sill, under a desk lamp, on the corner of a table that gets some natural light, or in the office. Included in the kit:
  • 3 Grow trays, humidity covers, and Soil
  • Spray bottle to use when germinating
  • 12 kinds of non-GMO Microgreen Seeds
  • A Grow Guide for each type of Microgreen
  • 144 Microgreen Recipes - Healthy eating!
  • Microgreen Troubleshooting Guide

  • Microgreens are Fast to Grow

Microgreens can grow in as little as six days. I was working 10 hours days away from home when the following images were taken. These are Radish Microgreens - from planting to harvest. I took a picture every night when I got home from work. I spent 30 seconds watering them every morning before work and 30 seconds watering them every night after work. That is all it took!

    To Grow Radish Microgreens:

    • Step 1: Plant seeds
    • Step 2: Grow in the Dark (Day 1, 2, 3)
    • Step 3: Grow in the Light (Day 4, 5, 6)
    • Step 4: Harvest & enjoy. Tastes just like radish. Note: Day count dependent on growing conditions.

Teach your Children Healthy is Fun

Anyone can grow MicrogreensIt is exciting to plant the seeds, go to work/school & come home to find the Microgreens an inch taller. My grandson loves the Microgreens. He is two and loves to help water them and whenever he thinks I'm not looking, likes to pick a fresh Microgreen and eat it.

The MyGrow Microgreen Kit is an excellent way to teach your children about nature, gardening, and being healthy.

The kit includes 12 kinds of seeds ranging from those very easy to grow to those more challenging to grow. Each Microgreen tastes just like it's natural counterpart - Cabbage Microgreens taste like Cabbage, Peas Microgreens like Peas.

Included are Arugula, Kale, Cabbage, Radish, Cabbage, Broccoli, Beets, Sunflowers (great with salt - eat like a chip), Peas, Mustard, Basil, Cilantro, and Wheatgrass (very nutritious).

Which Microgreens are Easiest to Grow?

The 12 types of Microgreens included in the MyGrow Microgreen Kit listed from easiest to most challenging to grow:

    • Kale Microgreens - Have a mild kale flavor. Very easy to grow. An excellent addition to any salad.
    • Arugula Microgreens - Have a peppery Arugula flavor. Great for making a Pesto for your steak.
    • Mustard Microgreens - This one of the milder Mustard Microgreen seeds. Create with Chicken. Very easy to grow.
    • Radish Microgreens - Tastes exactly like a Radish. Very easy and quick to grow. If you like Radish, you will love munching on these. Soak the seeds overnight before planting.
    • Cabbage Microgreens - A mild cabbage flavor. Easy to grow though a bit sensitive to being over watered.
    • Broccoli Microgreens - Tastes just like broccoli. Easy to grow but very sensitive to being over watered.
    • Peas Microgreens - A fun one for children to grow. Has an additional growing step but relativity easy to grow. Do not grow beyond 4" in height as they will begin to taste less sweet. Tastes just like peas.
    • Sunflower Microgreens - Another fun one for children to grow. Has an additional growing step. Be careful to not grow in too humid or wet conditions. These have a nutty flavor. They taste great sprinkled with salt and munched on like chips. My grandchildren's favorite.
    • Basil Microgreens - What makes this Microgreen more challenging is it is slow growing. Tastes just like Basil and can be used like fresh basil. Basil can be grown into the second leaf stage.
    • Wheatgrass Microgreens - If the Wheatgrass seeds are too wet, they may become moldy. Unlike other Microgreens, Wheatgrass can be harvested multiple times. Lots of nutrients. Great for juicing.
    • Cilantro Microgreens - Cilantro is more challenging because it is extremely slow to germinate. May take up to seven days for the seeds to sprout. This is one of the few Microgreens where a thin layer of dirt should be put over the seeds when planted.
    • Beet Microgreens - Beet Microgreens are more challenging to grow because they are sensitive to "dampening off". If the growing conditions aren't exactly right, they may grow and then suddenly wilt. By growing these last, you'll already have a good background for what is needed to have a successful crop. They make a wonderful colorful (bright red) addition to salads.
